nvidia problem in ubuntu "Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module"

Some times , if the kernel is recompiled this error may come in .
You can choose the video driver by these commands

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

then restart the gnome display manager .

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart

then it should work ..
